Elkome has delivered sensors and measurement systems to Meyer Turku Oy throughout the years. This time, the need was to measure vibration and distances with portable measurement device, which also functions as an independent data logger.

Fast and accurate measurements

The measurement system provided by Elkome is based on the modular Gantner Q.Brixx. The compact measurement system included the central unit and the required number of I/O modules for connecting voltage messages and IEPE-type vibration sensors. The accurate Q.Brixx measuring units have 24-bit resolution and the galvanic separation of channels.

Easily expandable

The Gantner Q.Brixx measurement system can be easily expanded according to the needs. Meyer’s system currently has 8 distance sensors and one accelerometer, but the system is meant to be expanded. A total of 16 Q.Brixx’s measurement modules can be connected to one system.

Independent operation as a data logger

Gantner Q.Brixx acts as a standalone data collector, so it will automatically continue to work during power outages. Due to the high measurement frequency and the long-lasting measurements, the internal memory of the system was expanded with a USB-connected mass memory. DASYLab measurement software was used for real-time monitoring of the measurement data.
