Epec has implemented the Epec GatE remote connection service into control systems for mobile machines based on the Secomea Remote Access System.

Remote connection for maintenance and upkeep

Often you would like to connect to a mobile machine for changing settings or diagnosing. Epec has implemented the Epec GatE remote connection service based on the Secomea system.

The system makes it possible to form a secure connection to machines that have the robust IoT Gateway device from the Epec 6000 series, designed specifically for the environment of the machine and challenging conditions. With the remote connection, the maintenance can solve problems, change settings, update software, look at log files, use the management portal, transfer and retrieve files as well as look at and use the local HMI interface. Customers of Epec doesn't have to maintain the needed information systems. The system can, for example, program remotely CODESYS-based control units, see CODESYS WebVisu UI and make VNC and FTP connections to devices in the control system.

Secomea SiteManager Embedded in the implementation

Devices from the Epec 6000 series has the Secomea SiteManager Embedded software, which can provide a secure connection to target. Instead of a separate router, SiteManager is embedded into the devices from the Epec 6000 series. The delivered devices and remote users are managed in the GateManager portal where customers can see their own devices and users. Allowed connections are defined in the GateManager management on device and user level. After this, remote users can now only see the targets and actions allowed to them in their LinkManager software.
