An electronic assembly instruction supporting the LEAN model

Elkome provided electronic device manufacturers a software supporting the LEAN model for electronic instructions. The software improved the efficiency in manual assembly and enhanced the quality of the products.

Clear instructions ensure the quality of products

An efficient and high-quality production requires clear instructions during the assembly. An organized assembly process ensures that the product is done properly. A falsely assembled product will not pass the final testing and has to be sent back to the earlier stages of the production. The reassembly of a faulty product will take up resources, frustrate the assembly personnel and lower the overall efficiency.

    Takt times ensure the efficiency

Desired assembly times are set to the different stages of the assembly (Takt Time). It is important for the assembly personnel to see their own performance in real-time. Pre-determined takt times help the assembly to stay in schedule. A carefully planned and scheduled assembly process ensures that a delay in assembly will not cause material shortages in later stages of the productions.

Assembly instructions from the product database

Assembly instructions for each product were saved to the customer's ERP system database. Instructions were made for every assembly stage and task. These instructions can then be downloaded to the workstations by scanning the product's serial number or the product number.

    Visualization improves speed and clarity

A text description and a visual instruction can be attached to every assembly stage and task. The system supports different image, sound and video formats. A visual instruction is clear and illustrative for the assembly personnel. After the task is finished, the personnel can be sure it was done correctly and the task can be registered as completed.

A carefully planned and scheduled assembly process ensures that a delay in assembly will not cause material shortages in later stages of the productions.
