LoRaWAN data collection and control
LoRaWAN is a wireless IoT data transfer technology that fits well especially for small amounts of data. Its strengths are two-way data transfer, localization, small power consumption and a large coverage.
LoRaWAN sensors and transmitters
With LoRaWAN sensors, it is easy to measure and collect data from targets situated in a geographically wide area. You can already find a broad selection of sensors measuring different quantities such as temperature, humidity, gas concentration and tremors. The LoRaWAN sensors consume little power, making them able to function up to ten years with batteries. Due to the LoRa technology, coverage is good even in places where cellular network is unreachable.
You can attach external sensors or devices for environment and condition monitoring on the LoRaWAN transmitter. In addition to voltage and current signals, serial communication and Modbus devices can also be added to the transmitter. Then the IoT system is able to collect data from automation systems as well.
Routers and IoT Edge Gateways
With LoRaWAN routers, you can also implement an in-house IoT network. A large industrial complex or for example a city-size area can be easily covered with just a few routers, whose ranges can be up to 10 km. LoRaWAN routers collect data from sensors and transmitters and relay them to the data collection servers or the cloud service.
A LoRaWAN router can also be a smart IoT Edge Gateway computer, which can refine the data from the sensors when needed. The computer can also function as the data collection server in a closed system and it can collect data from other industrial channels or wireless networks when desired.
