Electrical safety testing

Electrical safety testing ensures that the product fulfills the safety requirements defined in the standards. Voltage tests according to the requirements are made and earthing continuity is ensured. At its simplest, the tester can just consists of measuring equipment and a computer controlling them. At its finest the tester works fully automatically as part of a production line.

Stress testing

Stress testing makes sure that the product fulfills the durability requirement. It can be made to both mechanical and electrical durability. The stress tester can consists of a accelerated life testing cabinet where the product's operation is tested in various temperatures. Often the stress testing is combined with the functional testing. Besides temperature, the product can be stressed in many different ways that allows the hidden faults be revealed better.

Functionality testing

Functionality testing ensures that the product works the way it should. The test depends on the product and the customers testing plans. The tester can be used for several different products. An adapter or palette used to connect the product to the tester is designed and manufactured for every product.

Software download station

Usually customized software needs to be installed on the finished product. Typically the production control system will tell which version the product needs and the download station will then install it. This is often part of another tester.

Weighing and packing station

It is rechecked at the weighing and packing station that the finished product has all the parts that need to be delivered. The weight of the product tells whether all the parts are inside the package or is something. A serial number and package label is printer for the finished product. After the palletizing the product is ready to be delivered.

Repair station

For the flow of the production, products are not usually repaired on the production line. A defective product noticed during testing will be moved out of the production line to a separate repair station. At the repair station closer inspection and measurements are made to detect the fault. A repair station separate from the production line improves efficiency and guarantees continuous operation.
