Durability measurements of structures with a distributed measurement system
Bridge construction site measurements are often challenging in terms of conditions, schedules, and measurement accuracy. Mitta Oy uses the Gantner Q.Station and Q.Bloxx measurement system in the test load measurements of bridges due to its flexibility and excellent measurement accuracy.
Suitability for different measurement needs
The distributed measurement system consisting of Gantner's Q.Station measuring device and Q.Bloxx measuring units is a flexible solution for varying measuring needs. For example, in test load measurements of bridges, acceleration sensors are used to measure vibrations, strain gauges to measure the stress state of bridge girders and other structural components, and LVDT sensors to measure displacement. Q.Bloxx measuring units can be easily changed into the system according to different measuring needs.
Distribution makes installations easier
Bridge sites are often challenging installation environments for the measurement system. The distances are long and the sensors are placed in places that are difficult to cable. The decentralization of Gantner's measurement system facilitates installation and ensures measurement accuracy even in the most difficult areas. Q.Bloxx measuring units are placed close to the sensors, which also ensures measurement accuracy. Both the operating voltage and the measurement signal are taken to the measurement unit with one cable.
