Maintenance of automation systems with secure remote access
Valmet uses the Secomea Remote Access Solution for the maintenance of paper machines, power plants and other processes and automation systems. Elkome has entered into a supply and service agreement with Valmet, based on which Elkome applies the router devices of the Secomea system ready for use and is responsible for maintenance on behalf of Valmet.
Remote access to production and automation systems
Valmet uses the Secomea Remote Access Solution for the remote management and maintenance of paper machines, power plants and other processes and automation systems delivered to the end-customers around the world. The Secomea system consists of SiteManager routers delivered to the remote destination, the GateManager management portal and LinkManager remote users. The system enables a security-certified remote access to devices delivered to the world.
Device and user support as a service provided by Elkome
It is easy to add devices and users to the Secomea system and change their settings and access rights. However, Valmet has so many applications and users in its global system that Valmet ended up using the service offered by Elkome, which takes care of user support and the addition of new devices to the system. Valmet's staff can thus focus on developing their own systems and serving their customers.
Pre-configuration of SiteManager routers
The service contract includes the delivery of Secomea SiteManager routers to the installation site with the device settings specified in the order. The routers are configured by Elkome and delivered to the installation site within the pre-agreed response time. After installation, the SiteManager router automatically connects to the GateManager management portal and the connection is ready for the remote user.
GateManager Management Service
The service provided by Elkome also includes maintenance of the GateManager management service, user guidance, and investigation of possible malfunctions and their correction. Thanks to the pre-installation and maintenance services offered by Elkome, Valmet can be sure that the remote connections are in order whenever they are needed.
