Elkome developed a new user interface solution for Cimcorp for production and logistics control. The modular user interface combines usability, scalability and industrial environment requirements in one solution.
Cost-effective terminal solution without compromising usability
The goal of designing the new user interface terminal was to reduce system costs and create a solution that is suitable for multiple uses. The heavy industrial-style user interface was replaced with a more modern and lighter hardware, where the structure, materials and components were optimized to be cost-effective without compromising performance and versatility. The end result enables the user interface terminal to be used more widely in different locations.

One user interface terminal for multiple applications and purposes
In Cimcorp’s logistics systems, especially in food storage and distribution, the user interface terminal is a key part of operational efficiency. Thanks to its versatility, the new user interface is also suitable for machine control. The user interface can be integrated with, for example, an emergency stop button and manual conveyor control, which enables the terminal to be used on production lines. The modular solution reduces the need for different user interface solutions and simplifies the overall system architecture.
Modularity brings flexibility and a long life cycle
The modular structure of the user interface terminalallows it to be developed and updated to meet changing requirements. Functionalities can be added or updated to the system without replacing the entire device. This supports the system's compatibility with new software and technologies. Key components, such as the computer's central processing unit, operating system and display, can also be updated to meet new needs and requirements. Modularity and upgradability extend the life cycle of the user interface terminal and thus enable long-term utilization of the investment.
Close cooperation ensured a functional and cost-effective end result
The close cooperation between Elkome and Cimcorp was a key factor in the renewal of the user interface terminal. The customer's requirements were quickly understood, which enabled efficient progress in the development work and the finding of functional solutions. The cooperation will continue in the future, and the further development of the equipment will take into account, among other things, the more demanding IP protection requirements of the tire industry and new applications.
